It has been explained by the developers, this is done so that a maximum of people can use it, the more users, the harder the work to find you. Many people use it for their cats videos /Youtube, their porn, etc., they do not need a browser with extra secure settings by default.

Version 7.1a of TCrypt still works, no one was ever able to break it ;)
