you can run the game using applocale or just chane the unicode for japanese
control panel>regional and language>advanced>change unicode to japanese

of course u need to install east asian language pack from your XP cd. you need to download the language pack for win 7

"Thanks. I am very new at this. But I don't seem to have that unicode available. I tried searching for it on the internet and the microsoft site to download but got nowhere. However, I did get results from searching 'Japanese Language Pack'. So, is there a specific one that I need or would any Japanese unicode - despite the date of the pack - be alright?

If you could please provide a link, that would be most helpful. Thanks for the help."

about the crc check is the archive corrupt did it specify the exact part where the problem occured? did you try to repair it? The archive has recovery record there should be a high chance to fix it if it is corrupted
