Sony increasing PlayStation 5 RRP around the world

PS5 price to increase in select markets due to global economic environment, including high inflation rates

Sony blames "high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends" for the RRP increase in Europe, UK, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, and Canada (there's no increase for the United States).

Retailers are still selling PS5 consoles (new and pre-owned) for inflated prices.

a game console shouldn't be as expensive in the vein of a motor vehicle - but i remembered that videogames are a dying medium
