Ri Koran
Originally performed in 1991, on the 20th anniversary of restoring Sino-Japanese relations in 1992 the musical takes a tour to four Chinese cities (Beijing / Changchun / Shenyang / Dalian). In 1997 a performance is taking place in Singapore and "Ri Koran" receives an international recognition even today being the most representative Japanese musical.
This story is about Yamaguchi Yoshiko who was born as Japanese, and took a star path of Chinese songstrees known as "Ri Koran" (Li Xianglan). In the background of the Second Sino-Japanese War and Manchukuo she has been used as a weapon of Japanese war propaganda without knowing by herself. This is a depiction of the vicissitudes of her life, when she was judged as a traitor in Chinese postwar court.
Ikoku No Oka
Trying to reveal the harsh reality of "Siberian Internment" and mixing it with a daring fiction story, this musical by "Shiki Theatre" is a first class entertainment.
Imagine an inexpressible hunger, coldness and harsh manual labor. After the WWII more than a 600 thousand Japanese were placed at internment camps in frigid Siberia and 60 thousand of them lost their lives. This story is based on that fact and tells us about young "Prince", born in a distinguished family and died an unnatural death in the far away land of Siberia.
Minamijyujisei
This musical tells us the actual story of a real person in biographical manner, reconstructed from historical documents in form of fiction.
Originally performed in Tokyo in year 2004 this musical was running about 4th months. There were performances in a following year also. While the musical was staging in Kyoto and Nagoya it was bathing in public attention.
While Japan's conflict with China was bogging down in a quagmire USA, UK and the Netherlands at last were breaking into total war. Student of Kyoto University Isao Hoshina being full of ideals is departing in South.
Set in Indonesia under the rule of military government, this musical shows us the disappearance in a scaffold the clear way of life of blooming youth, classified as a "BC class war criminal"
