Plot/Synopsis:
Adapted from a classic Japanese horror novel, Suffocation is the first psychological thriller from mainland China, a dizzying blend of suspense and black humor.
A photographer who appears to have murdered his philandering wife and buried her body at the beach finds himself constantly haunted by her ghost, which lurks in the cello case he used to transport the dead body.
The [spectre/]specter seems to have vengeance on its mind, which drives him to disorientation and madness.
Finally, he is confronted with the struggle between consciousness and sub-consciousness, between good and evil, and between life and death.
