A woman walking home late at night is attacked by an unknown assailant who knocks her out with chloroform. When she regains consciousness, she finds herself tied to a bed in a blood- spattered dungeon, at the mercy of a white-faced man in a samurai helmet who wants to turn her into a “flower of blood and flesh.” He then proceeds to slowly dismember and disembowel her as the camera records it all.
“Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood” deserves to be called one of the sickest horror films ever made. This notorious pseudo-snuff sickie is about a guy who dressed as a Samurai warrior kidnaps beautiful Japanese woman and hacks her up in excruciating detail, occasionally pausing to recite some hai-ku. This part of “Guinea Pig” series does contain some very convincing gore effects of hands, arms and legs being cut off in unflinching detail. The worst scene for me is the eye-gouging which is the most realistic. The series received a great deal of publicity when American actor Charlie Sheen, believing this one to contain actual murder gave the copy to the FBI. So if you like extreme gore and cruelty you won’t be disappointed. Even the most-hardened gore-hounds will wince!

A men gets depressed because his girlfriend has dumped him for a friend. He tries to attempt suicide but to no avail, so he decides to scare the guy that stole his girl, by throwing his own guts at him.
This absolutely hilarious (seriously!) gore flick documents the life of a bored businessman who just broke up with his sexy girlfriend. One evening in a fit of restlessness and depression he slits his wrists, only to find himself healthy again within minutes. He soon discovers that he will never die no matter what kind of mutilation and desecration he inflicts upon himself. Knowing this, our hero exacts revenge on his ex’s new beau by grossing the poor guy out, making him witness all kinds of disgusting self-abuse, including having internal organs thrown at him. The gore is unbelievably realistic and stomach-churning, but at the same time it’s so extreme and over-the-top that you know it’s supposed to be humorous as well as repulsive. Definitely the funniest entry in the GUINEA PIG series. Also, be sure to stick around for the credits.

A mad doctor displays a selection of her more gruesome case studies. Starting with one family whose heads explode if they get angry and a woman whose heart explodes if she’s surprised, the doctor then presents us with a man whose right half wants to kill his left. Other subjects put on display are the effects of going to a sauna if you’re a man who sweats blood, the possibilities of romance between woman and zombie, and a game of one- upmanship between hospital patients.
First off this doesn’t remotely compare to the sadistic sickness or madcap gnarly brutality of other entries in this series. This is a straight up idiotic campy comedy, sort of gory Monty Python style stuff except much dafter. Exploding heads, a flying disembodied stomach and even crazier shenanigans go on here, in a series of sketches about a transvestite doctor with silly hair doing silly things to patients with silly ailments. Some are quite funny, some are nicely gruesome in a cheapo kind of way and one is even bizarrely touching. The effects aren’t up to much and its all quite hit and miss. However if your fond of Troma or South Parks dumber moments this is probably for you. I generally had a good time watching this, it passed by quickly and though the campy cheapness shines throughout, only the opening and closing sketches really struck me as being poor effects wise. I laughed frequently, I wouldn’t say its hilarious like others have done but it is pretty amusing in a retarded sort of way. Its a shame the Guinea Pig series couldn’t have go out with more of a bang, as some of the earlier ones are nastily impressive and this one is a bit stupid, but I enjoyed it overall. Worth watching if your sense of humour extends to the very lowbrow, especially if accompanied by alcohol.

Another daft entry in the extremely gory Japanese Guinea Pig series, The Android of Notre Dame sees a demented dwarf scientist attempting to discover a way to save his terminally-ill sister.
When a mysterious stranger contacts the little guy offering to sell him a female body for use as a ‘guinea pig’, it looks as though he might be on the verge of a breakthrough—but he botches the experiment and, in a fit of rage, mutilates the corpse (repeatedly stabbing it in the chest with a scalpel).
Soon after, the stranger turns up on the wee fellow’s doorstep, once again offering a corpse in exchange for money. This time, however, the scientist decides not to pay for his next cadaver—killing the visitor instead (by removing his legs with a buzz-saw booby trap), and using his re-animated severed head in a series of tests.
Eventually, the girlfriend of the dead guy comes looking for her beau, but also becomes a victim of the dwarf, thus providing him with a suitable body into which he can finally transplant his sister’s ‘consciousness’.
A rather tongue-in-cheek effort, Android of Notre Dame is far removed from the first two Guinea Pig movies, which attempted to be as nasty and as realistic as possible: this one features lots of hokey gore and unconvincing surgical procedures (including a particularly messy scene featuring rough ‘n’ ready rib removal) which make it a fairly entertaining experience for those who like their horror rather twisted and laden with blood, but not in the least bit disturbing.
As far as I am concerned, mad dwarfs, gratuitous violence and naked women always make a film watchable, so I wouldn’t consider AOND to be a complete waste of 51 minutes, but those expecting anything quite as horrific as Flowers of Flesh and Blood (Guinea Pig 2) will be rather disappointed.

An artist finds and rescues a mermaid in a sewer. He takes her home with him and she develops sores all over her body that begin to pustulate and bleed. He uses what oozes from her sores to paint her portrait. When he can no longer handle it anymore he breaks down and dismembers her body.
Originally part of the notorious underground video series GUINE PIG (which came to the public’s attention when actor Charlie Sheen mistook an episode for an actual snuff movie), GUINEA PIG: MERMAID IN A MANHOLE is the only one to have gained a cult status outside of the series’ infamy. People unfamiliar with the series need only know that it is largely made up of extremely gruesome, brutal and realistic footage of people (mostly women) being tortured, mutilated and murdered (sometimes self-inflicted). Guinea Pig 2: Flowers of Flesh and Blood (the one that sparked the Sheen controversy) is a 45 minute long video in which a woman is graphically dismembered and disemboweled. MERMAID has aspirations beyond simply grossing its viewers out (though it doesn’t skimp on that), and goes more for a David Cronenberg-esque atmosphere of disease and decay, meant to disturb as much as repulse. The story involves an artist who gets his ideas from items he finds in the sewer. One day, while rooting around for inspiration, he comes across a real live mermaid. She is injured and sick, from years of living in all the filth and muck. He takes her back to his apartment and places her in his bathtub, where she slowly begins to rot. He paints her as her condition worsens. Sores appear all over her body and erupt in multi-colored pus, which he uses (at her request) to continue painting the portrait. Blood, slime and worms squirm out of her skin. She vomits worms and slime. Eventually, her intestines burst out of her body and ooze onto the floor. It’s really, really gross. All through this he continues to paint her picture. Blood-drenched and nightmarishly bizarre, but with moments of dark, offbeat humor sprinkled throughout. If you have the stomach for it, and you can find it, this is an interesting little movie for fans of bizarre and/or grotesque cinema. Easily the best of the Guinea Pig series.
