Taro is a lazy and selfish boy who loves to eat and sleep, and wrestle with the animals. With no direction in his life, he encounters a wizard that gives him a special potion. With this potion, he gains the strength of a hundred men. But the catch is he can only use it when he is helping others. With this strength, Taro begins a quest to find his long-missing mother, and on the way helps other villagers and farmers solve the natural and supernatural causes of their suffering.
