The title actually means "Tears on the Lion's Mane" but it's more widely known as "A Flame at the Pier"...
I saw this theatrically last year and I can confirm the HD copy I'm sharing is sourced from the best elements available. Many early Shinodas have a hodgepodge feeling, they are often derivative and don't stand out. This is one of the films towards his maturity. It features a wonderful cinematography and a haunting score by Takemitsu. Don't miss it! Kaga Mariko is another thing you might not want to miss...smile2.gif
Plot:
In Shinoda’s look at codes of obligation, a union-busting Yokohama dockworker learns that the loyalties that rule his life are based on shaky foundations. Believing that his manager was responsible for saving his life as a baby, he falls victim to a manipulative cycle of deceit and revenge, in Shinoda’s twist on contemporary films of rebellious youth.
