Japanese studios and directors have to get creative with storylines, camera angles or lighting in order to make up for the cernsorship. American porn is, for the most part, incredibly lazy.

That's not always the case. Performers like Minori Hatsune, Sora Aoi or Yuma Asami aged very gracefully, and by the end of their AV career had an elegant and distinguished lady-like look to them.
