meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Yes, the padding values sent to MVTools2 have changed. The MVTools2 version has changed in meguIVit 1.0b also. I'm currently working on a new plugin to manipulate MVTools2 vectors and I am beginning to believe that MVTools2 padding doesn't work as it should. I spotted the bug that led to its...

Of course there have been changes, if I wanted to keep things the same then I wouldn't keep increasing those version numbers... Between meguIVit 0.2.1 and 1.0b3 we have gone from QuickTGMC 2.51 to 3.32. That's almost a thousand lines of script difference (and some new plugins). I constantly add...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Annoying, but true. My assumption was incorrect. The same CRF value may give different quality between versions of x264. So every time you update x264, you need to reconsider your settings. Not a big incentive to keep up to date then. I'll look into this for the next release.

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

You will never get the same result. MeguIVit 1.0b3 uses a recent x264 (r1924), whereas version 0.2.1 uses r1745. Some default "Quantizer" settings have changed due to this, I have not checked their purpose. I have assumed that the CRF (the "Quality" setting) doesn't need to change due to an x264...

That's not a lot for the settings you are using. You must enable "Add pre-rendering job". You could also reduce the thread count for that memory: - Go to the One-Click "Custom Processing" tab - Uncheck "Auto" on "Main Threads" and "Sub-Threads" - Set "Sub-Threads" to 1 - Experiment with...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

You should be able to get the same quality, certainly at your extreme settings. Why is it only almost the same quality? Most standard settings should be faster (I can run the defaults, "Slow", with no pre-rendering direct to 60fps x264, at well over 40fps for 480p). The extreme settings might...

You unchecked "Add pre-rendering job" on the "Encoder Config" tab. That is OK for a good machine on default settings. But if you run slower settings you need to check "Add pre-rendering job" or you will run out of memory (AviSynth is a 32-bit app, so it can only use 2Gb - there is a unofficial...

Yes. Lossless=2 will be renamed Boost in future QuickTGMC because Lossless=2 isn't actually lossless - it is smoothed by the final temporal step (see below) Smoothing is just a nice name for the setting TR2. Switch if off by disabling "Auto" and setting it to 0. It is not usually a good idea...

This seems to be a meguIV packaging problem. The file "FFTW3.DLL" is in my zip file in the System folder where it should be (along with the related file "libfftw3f-3.dll"). They appear in the correct location when MeguIVit runs, but somehow they aren't found at runtime. Rollyco, can system...

I never really looked at those before, VobBlanker is a much better approach if you only need to strip to cell boundaries. Shame the interface is so daunting, even though it's practically not very complex to use. I have a DVD that takes the form of a role play with different paths. It has a...

Yes, the latest meguIVit allows you to set the Start and End frame of the section to rip. I intend to allow multiple trims and a built in visual preview later, for now it's a little manual but still very easy: - In the main meguIVit window (before you press One-Click), go to the menus...

The default settings on the new version are very similar to "60fps D:Slow" on the previous version: this is already a good quality / speed balance for a DVD and is considered a high quality rip on this site (you can put [HQ] on your posts). IceManZ, I don't really understand your post. Are you saying that the new MeguIVit has broken chapter functionality. Or is this a request to solve a problem that you have always had? The chapters are stored in the IFO, which is stored with the VOBs. What are you actually suggesting? Edit...

Why are there two source filters there? It means your AssumeFPS is effectively ignored. Try some different source filters anyway, they can behave randomly (not usually AviSource though). I've never been happy with the results of 24p to 60p mvflow... 48p might be better.

Dunno what's happening with the 30.30fps. It's FFVideoSource which is making that change, maybe it needs tweaked settings. In any case, going to lossless avi will surely help. I often run a second pass of scripting on lossless AVIs and the speed is no different than expected.
