I get 35-50 kb/s from depositfiles, so I don't even bother with them. Less than 1 fourth than Rapid or even HotF

I had the same problem, I used to upload the same for MU and Rapid, but while I had like 2400 points in rapid (back in the day free users gave you 5 points per day - now they give you 0) MU was like 92, and then it didn't move at all, so I quit. Never used premium though.
