Sad news. FC2PPVDB was a hugely valuable resource cataloging FC2 PPVs. The database linked actress names when they could be found, so you could find other videos with the same girl.

It's hard to imagine how simply describing products that were for sale could break any law, but it is scary to be threatened by lawyers. I hope they are able to stand up to this and keep the site online. There is a wall open for comments at the moment, maybe go show your support.

As of August 22nd, my FC2 affiliate ID was banned.
I have removed links to FC2 and other sites, and hidden FC2 images.
If any links or images remain, please leave a comment on the page.

I have received a large number of DMCA notices, so I have temporarily deleted them.
Information such as the title of the work, the seller's name, and the video ID are not considered expressions,
and I believe that this does not constitute copyright infringement, but I have contacted FC2 just to be sure.

If you have any comments or suggestions for future updates, please leave a comment here.

PS:

FC2 has responded, "We are unable to respond."
I will be deleting all pages except the chat page.

So sad. I hope there will be an alternative site :hiks:
It just happened, but I hope they don't accept being bullied and find a way to keep the site open.

I don't know if the database is still online or not (i.e. if they just removed the website structure), if it is, somebody could possibly scrape that so at least we would have an archive of past titles. Or they could create a torrent. The information is too valuable to just be lost.

I will miss this site :(

You can still access some of the content with the Wayback Machine. To remove the age verification just use your browser's Inspect Element and delete the <div id="ageCheck"

good news!... kinda :keringat:

The site is back, but it's very limited. Now you need to register an account and there's only the video ID search function available. The only result the site provides is the actress ID and the ID of all the films she has appeared in. No thumbnails, no rankings, no producer related info and I don't know if the database will continue to be updated. The comment box seems to be working too

I thought it was still the same? Nothing has changed since the strike.

He was using FC2 bandwidth by using all the content directly from the fc2 domain. Nothing was hosted on FC2 Database's server. Maybe FC2 decided to ban hotlinks. That's what happened to all those websites using DMM's video links. One change and your website is dead. The same thing could happens to JAVlibrary.

Also, DMCA claims are sent by bots. It doesn't mean anything. You could even receive one for just using the movie ID and the cover on your website.

Bad business by FC2, what a stupid move to threaten somebody that I'm sure was bringing them a lot of traffic. Surely worth the amount of bandwidth and whatever commissions they were paying the site. You're right about javlibrary, I never realized their covers were hotlinked. Seems crazy to think about, I imagine they have some agreement with DMM though.

As far as the copyright claims... admin is smart enough to build the database and website, I trust they are smart enough to not be spooked by something meaningless. Plus being removed as an affiliate shows they are not playing since they are willing to throw away all the referrals it brought.

How does this compare to FC2PPVDB?

Any way is good to find titles. I wonder how many there are, 100,000? A million? This looks like a standard blog, I think they have current titles only, on FC2PPVDB you can search titles from the past and present, and they are linked by actress. I have never seen anything like it.

I thought it was still the same? Nothing has changed since the strike.

Now you are asked to log in when you visit the site. The database search has returned, but it is very basic - when you enter a PPV ID, you get an actress ID if known and links to other titles with that actress. All text. I hope they will build a db of thumbnails, but even if they don't this information is so helpful and I hope it stays online.

I suppose it didn't bring them that much sales :D. Most of the traffic was japanese but maybe pirates from Japan.

I imagine they have some agreement with DMM though.

DMM started blocking hotlinking for their videos to foreign traffic in november or december 2024. They probably don't care as much about images, at least for now, compared to videos but you never know. And considering JAVLibrary is home of pirate links for all JAV movies, I doubt DMM has any agreement with the website.
