It's a pity Topaz stopped giving perpetual licenses. Whatever version you have now is all you will ever have unless you want to pay them monthly. I can't afford that so I bought a new perpetual license just before the deadline when they ended it. That gave me a version of Video AI two years newer than the one I had. "Topaz Studio" is ridiculously expensive compared to what we were using before. Hopefully somebody out there gives us a better alternative moving forward. I love my AI treated JAVR videos.

Yes, it's a shame how Topaz has betrayed us. Not only is it more expensive now, but you can no longer keep the latest version of your subscription. Now, if you don't subscribe, you can't use anything.

Hmm, I don't know where you got the info that those headsets are standalone.
First the Pimax Dream Air. Yes it has Micro-OLED and is lightweight but for the standalone part you need an extra module called 'Cobb' and so far they have almost no information about this or I couldn't find much. Like it only appears in some FAQ so it dosen't even exist in this form yet and I have never seen them show it off. I have watched all their promotional video from Pimax about this headset (interesting for sure) and they never mention standalone a single time. They are heavily focusing on PC VR. You can't even buy the Cobb module yet and they aren't even saying when it will be released. It could takes years, who knows. So yes, in theory it might have a standalone option in the future but what would the interface look like? Which apps would run on it and so on and how good is the battery? Too many unanswered questions for me considering the price point.
In general I like how Pimax is pushing the industry and how they innovate and hit new price points with insane specs. But on the other hand I see every single customer of Pimax as some sort of early adopter and beta tester and you can see countless evidence of that from their customers on the internet. This is not what I want. I want a product that works out of the box and for the Dream Air standalone is an afterthought and not the main focus.
Now to the MeganeX 8k. Again, cool specs but where did you get the information that it runs standalone? I have found zero evidence for it or rather the opposite. This seems to me like a 100% PC VR headset.
It's a big f u to all of their customers. This shouldn't even be legal but well it's an American company so they can basically do whatever they want.
You have your 100% no-buy principle when it comes to VRs with girls that have tattoos or fake tits. It's the same for me when it comes to useless subscription models, DRM and so on. Topaz is not getting a single cent from me as long as they don't drop this subscription model nonsense.

Well, the Pimax website says “everything integrated,” so I understood it to be standalone. I was convinced that the MeganeX 8K was standalone, my mistake.
I do want to buy an 8K headset, but I haven't seriously started researching yet. But my needs are the opposite of yours. I'm looking for a headset that can be connected to a PC via cable, without any intermediate software that compresses the image. I hate that. I hate Middle-man software, even more for something as unnecessary and critical as image.That's why my preferences are closer to the Pimax Crystal Super Micro-OLED, but they cost a fortune.
For me, one of the problems with all those minimalist standalone (or non-standalone) glasses is that they are very small and have a low FOV, and I have a high IPD, so I need a lot of FOV.

When I find a girl beautiful, I tend to be quite forgiving the moment they get naked. Basically, if just looking at their face is enough to make me stupid, I get way dumber once their clothes are off. Like with Miyashita Rena. She's one of the worst performers in JAV. Still crazy about her. Girls on this list, I'm eagerly watching out for any VR or gravure that that they make, and would look for their 2D stuff provided its POV.

Yes, I know she has had plastic surgery but that is the sort of face that when combined with that figure is able to ruin my underwear even when she's fully clothed, and its not like I even like big breast girls normally.

Yeah, Sasaki Saki isn't on that list. Imagine that, but we've never really seen her without her heavy makeup. Need to have seen a with lighter makeup, or even better - her natural face first. Some of the girls I have listed have actually done titles without makeup, notably Rena. Still so damned beautiful with the makeup off. I would say Saki falls under the same category as Matsumoto Ichika for me - kawaii. That's a different list altogether haha. If I think a girl is very kawaii, I also can be quite forgiving. But girls who make that list somehow are usually very good performers too.
I guess what they mean is that you don't need any external tracking devices like the Steam Index so that it works out of the box as a PC VR headset.

Nope, I have commented on some of her releases in this thread like her Unfinished titles from early 2025 and VRKM-1515. She is very cute but has a rather reserved/less expressive personality. I like her even though I normally do prefer the more expressive upbeat girls like Suehiro Jun, Satsuki Ena or Mei Washio.
I agree, the story does disappoint and they could've done more with it. If you had a girl arrive in a cardbox like that it should play out differently. For how ridiculous the situation is she acts if it's totally normal 'oh yeah I'm naked and arrived in a cardbox, hello' like nothing out of the ordinary happend. SOD often does this, they have a crazy idea but never think about details or the plot that follows. The result is that it often turns out quite generic even though the premise is anything but.
Thinking about it VRs with this kind of plot in which the girl arrives in a cardbox either as themselves or as a sex robot always turn out rather boring or unimaginative. I think it's possible to make it interesting and erotic but for that you have to put in the extra effort and think more about how the plot should turn out and how the girl acts in this situation. Certainly nothing I would expect from SOD in 2025
Anyways the sex scenes are pretty good like you say. It has all the angles and some of them are well made. And well the missionary is also good considering that they do it inside the cardbox. Not my favorite VR or anything but I agree it's one of the better SOD titles from this year.
I completely agree, I feel the same way. There are quite a few actresses I like, and then there are 10 or 12 that I would fall in love with in real life. And I forgive them for a lot of things.
For example, Nana Kisaki and Miyashita Rena aren't good actresses, but I don't care too much because just looking at them is enough for me.
Sasaki Saki and Minase Akari have very visible cuts on their arms. With other actresses, I would rule them out, but with them I tolerate it because I like many other things about them.
And like you, with certain actresses, just looking at them or watching them in everyday scenes like eating or chatting is enough for me. That's one of the reasons I liked Mio's latest VR so much.
We've already discussed this, but I would buy VR gravure titles featuring them...

Here we're going to have 90 minutes...

It has TWO F2F cowgirl and TWO F2F missionary positions, something I've never seen before. All four are mega immersive:
Although Ibuki seems serious in the movie, it's because of her role: she plays your ex-girlfriend, who is getting married, so she asks you for one last night of sex...
The plot tries to reflect the sadness of the farewell (and that she's going to miss your penis...
Ibuki will stick to your body in both positions...

Sadly, eventually an actress changes her looks or I just burn out on seeing her. For example, Tsubasa Hachino was my go-to girl for a while when I first discovered VR.

Good point about Sakura Momo but the thing is she's consistently a sold performer which is why I never really think about her as just a beautiful face. Those on my list can be a little lacking at times but Momo usually never disappoints unless Idea Pocket themselves screw up her title.
Minamo is facially very attractive but I'm not just a face guy. I'm also very much a breast guy and well... I'm not completely against boob jobs even if I don't really like them. But whoever did Minamo's also apparemtly screwed up Momonogi Kana's.
