Hi,

i have found that DeepL is much better than Google in translation. Problem is the max. 5000 character limit.
So... something which can de done for fileformat "srt":
(I have just started learning python a week ago, so don't expect to much):
1. Unrar Translate_with_DeepL_inBlocks -> you get a py python file.
2. Open with Python Idle.
3. Edit Line Nr. 17 -> enter the Subtitle file name e.g. "RBD-651.txt"
4. Run the script.

You get a new file named: "rawtranslation.txt"

I have found that DeepL makes sometimes errors in formatting so use the ClearRaw.py file to make a "cleared_translation.txt" file in which some of these errors corrected. Rename it back to your "subtitlename.srt".

Depending on the size of the subtitle it can take up to 1 hour to do the job (however automatically), because:
- It translates in 200 lines blocks at once only (you can speed up changing the block size in line 12 Splitby=200 to Splitby=300 for example, but beware the 5000 char limit then)
- It waits 30 sec for a block translated. I have found it's necessary, because of internet connection speed, using VPN etc. If this is too much change in line 10 the variable WaitingTime=30 to WaitingTime=20 for example.

You probably still need to correct some smaller mistakes...but it uses DeepL, it is free.
Sometimes it is too much for one IP address so use it for one file only, than change IP (VPN recommended.)

I have tested with 74kb and 43kb subtitle files.

Any help in code development is welcomed. No licence or such, so use it as you want.
Cool, I’ll check it out .

This is awesome. Thanks @avatarthe !
Quick question: version 8 of the excel seems to have 15,000 titles. Am I downloading a wrong version?
It should have close to 16,000 titles if I remember correctly, these are the titles from the Subpack the scrapping software was able to recognize and match against JAV Library’s website, the remaining 12,000 or so titles in the sub pack are not included in the excel spreadsheet ( I was trying to include them as just the movie code but that was causing issues with the file. I may try to reincorporate those titles again in a future version or if someone, I’m looking at you @theydonotwantto , can add scrappers for other JAV websites like JAV bus, r18.com, 1pondo, Caribbean, etc to the program we can get more titles in the excel File. I have another 100 or so titles I did manually before I just gave up ( “I was like only 11,900 to go...”) I may add those to.

actually JAVMovieScraper https://github.com/DoctorD1501/JAVMovieScraper
Has scrappers for multiple JAV sites, I wonder if some code could be borrowed from that project to improve this one… Too bad I’m not a programmer, anyone up for the challenge?

I think it's incredible that no one has done them yet. In my opinion they are clearly the best films of the whole Jav genre.

WOW just WOW, I thank you for diligence in collate this all together, some JAV heroes don't wear green hats.

Unfortunately the Super-Mega pack hasn't got what I've what I'm looking for, so I'll get back to transcribing from a hardsub and hopefully have a new english subtitle for everyone in a week or two.
Hey, can you help me with transcribing? how do you transcribe JAV?

According to my analysis, that pack contains 28047 subs files, but only 17433 (give or take, because I'm still cleaning up my analysis) individual video codes. Meaning approximately 10000 files are duplicate video codes.

I don't plan to download and open a 350MB Excel file, when I finish cleaning up the video codes, I will post a text table so you (and I) can find the sub file(s) using video codes, (for me the standard workflow is centered around video codes).

AMAZING subs in EXCEL THANKS @avatarthe !!! But i can't find movies with Reiko Kobayakawa Nitr-064:( and Nitr-40:oops:

Guys, read the topic. This thread should be only about the subs translation and contribution. There are plenty ways to request stuffs. PLUS, 60+ aren't mainstream at all. To call them "best films of whole jav genre"...

Supergiav- funny you should mention JUC-028 with Fumie Tokikoshi- my all-time favorite! There is another member here who considers that his favorite Fumie title of all time. Sadly, to my knowledge there are no subtitled Fumie movies out there-maybe a clip or 2 on some site. I have used Desioner on this forum to subtitle other movies, and it really adds so much to the experience. I must admit, though, less dialogue on her movies than some other idols. Still, pm him if you are interested in any of the titles you listed.

Agreed, there are a lot of duplicates, but I think @theydonotwantto analysis of the last sub pack (15,500+ subtitles?) Shows only 7,700 unique
files, so this bundle still has more than double the number.
I look forward to the tool you are working on, it will make it easier to find a subtitle when you already have a movie in mind, the excel file is more of use to find new films you might not know about, say you like Julia and thought it would be nice to see a film with her as a tanned gal, “hmm... do I have subtitles for this theoretical film?” Punch it in the excel file and Boom! Subtitles for tan Julia films! Now you can go and track down and download the films for the subtitle which you already have. I think the 2 search methods complement each other.

I have posted several versions of the excel 28,000+subtitle search file, the current version is V8 I would like some feedback form people to see if it’s working well in the wild, most of the iterations I’ve been for bugs that I’ve discovered after I’ve uploaded the file. Since everyone’s been quiet I assume it’s working well but it would be nice to hear from people if that is the case.

I’m most curious to note if there hide/Unhide feature for the cover photos Is working properly. I’m keeping the file protected so people don’t accidentally Corrupted data, but it’s very difficult to have the file function properly with the protection in place without using macros which I am also trying to avoid

Only with the covers but I was able to solve it when the links load.... thanks!!
So you are clicking on the cover links to see the covers? I’m you are not able to in hide column C which has the built in cover pics? Please try this..

i think the ability to hide and un-hide the column is there but the + symbol switch is being blocked, please try this:

follow the same instructions for searching but to un hide the pics do this

Ctrl-A
Then Home tab>Cells section> Format> Hide&unhide> unhide columns

this should make they pics visible

then before you change out cancel the search hide them again by:

click on the C at the top of the pic column, then right click > Hide

let me know if this works, it will help me fix the file
