You are right about the idol status. That is why I enjoy Japanese Adult Video. I feel a good portion know this is fan based and at least in the public spotlight give fans the attention/love. I agree with Veltiel. I would add one thing about having too much girls in the industry : being more selective. More girls with plastic surgery are entering the market. They get a boobjob or nosejob thinking it will give them something special. It's not the west, I'm sure most of japanese fans like natural girls.
