the video HS-08 is only 653mb in size which is definitely weird in itself and when i rip it to .mp4 it is only 143mb in size. i will post it soon but it is a disappointment.

Is the movie complete? If cd_recovery filled what it couldn't read with 0s, there's a good chance either the decryption or the rip stopped before the end if there was a gap between the data.

SamKook, will compare both dvd and rip asap.

SamKook's surmise is correct - my rip is identical to the .vob file # 1 of HS-08 and is excluding 3 of the 4 .vob files from that video

and btw here's a thumb of the decrypted dvd recovered by cd_recovery:

and talk about something cumbersome to do!! i had to rip each .vob file contained in HS-08 then join it with the open source mp4joiner - it works but what a pain!

Strange thing about HS-08, there's double fisting displayed on the cover, and says that it will be part of scene 1. I've just watched it, and there is no fisting of any kind in this video. Zool didn't tag it as such, so it's my own fault.

evande and other HS-08 viewer,

evande's experience is the same one i had. i had an expectation that because there was fisting on the cover that it would also be in the video. this is not the case. the fisting reference on the cover is in the booklet portion of HS-08, albeit a very small portion of it. the booklet, which is about 190 pages, with an accompanying dvd that is only 653 mb in size - remember most dvd are usually in excess of 3 gb.

Thanks as always for all the great posts. I cannot seem to get HS-08 to play with image. Have tried opening in QuickTime and only get sound (Microsoft Media Player just gives message media is unplayable and no codec found). Am I the only one with this problem? Hoping there is a fix...

that is my rip making individual .mp4 for each .vob file using handbrake then combining them with .mp4joiner - so it could easily be a major fu. i will review it again using vlc and mpc-hc - those are all i use anymore. i don't use window media player or quicktime so won't comment on whether it plays on those.

anyone else have a problem playing HS-08?

results:
i replayed the video in vlc and it played okay albeit rough - i got an error message on mpc-hc which asked me to download the CCCP codec packet. i did install those codec and HS-08 still plays funky and with errors so tokyogirl12's concerns are noteworthy. i am going to make a single .vob file with dvd decrypter then make an .mkv file using MeguIVit and repost it later today or early morning tomorrow.
