ITT: People spouting nonsense in all directions. Bakajin's assertion is not entirely incorrect; were you to throw a rock at a club in Roppongi, chances are you would hit a girl interested in hooking up with a gaijin; but only because Roppongi is where those types of girls tend to congregate. I'm sure there are similar "areas of gathering" in other major cities with large amounts of foreigners, like Sapporo and Osaka. But for the rest of Japan, "dating a foreigner" isn't really that high up on the list of a Japanese girl's to-do list. (IE: The girls who go to Roppongi do not represent the norm for the rest of Japanese females.) Some foreigners obviously like to brag about their conquests in Japan, but for all we know it might just be the same handful of girls sleeping around with all the different gaijin (and swapping STDs while they're at it). Put it plain and simple: you cannot simply walk up to any woman in Japan and expect them to want to hook up with you simply because you are foreign. Anyone who thinks otherwise for whatever reason is just wrong. Any foreigner who claims otherwise has either just been really lucky at finding the few that are interested in foreigners, or have just stooped down to the level of Gas Panic (which is really no different than simply hiring a prostitute, then saying "I made it with a Japanese woman!").

Girls who hook up with older guys often do it for money. BUT NOT ALL GIRLS HOOK UP WITH OLDER GUYS! Please check your logic before making assumptions about every last girl in Japan.
Unless there's something cultural or something that happens in their life to alter their behavior, girls behave within the same spectrum everywhere. Not all girls that hook up with older guys want money, some want security and or a guy that won't jump their bones every five minutes, good luck with that one. Some just like the look and confidence of an older man.
