Thanks so much Mr. Newyorker, you are making this alot easier for everyone. I've sent my PM already and we have a confirmation from everyone except phuctlyfe, but i'm sure he'll come through. One more thing we should all agree on is how long we will keep the videos passworded before making them public (if we even make them public at all). Somehow i have a feeling once the videos arrive, tons of people will just happen to "find" the thread again and ask for download access. I recommend we distribute download links through PM only and not post it directly on the thread for this reason. We also have to decide on file hosting. This is a tough one because i doubt everyone has the same premium accounts. I have premium accounts to rapidshare and hotfile. Are either one of those ok for everyone?
Yes, thank you newyorker for your persistent work to bring the titles to us. I would however prefer Megaupload since I am cheap and have no premium accounts and Megaupload is the only hosting site that doesnt really have download limits that i know of.
Folks in regard to premium accounts remember you can buy membership at mydownloader (for like $4) which gives you premium access to alot of the sites (megaupload, rapidshare etc) I can setup FTP access to all those who have paid for the dvds - they can then download directly the iso files or whatever it may be.
I never uploaded to any of these sites, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I have no premium accounts but don't mind to register. In this case I can upload and free users can download a maximum size of Rapidshare 200MB Hotfile 2000MB(you can upload and download this) Megaupload 1000MB(upload is 2000MB but download is 1000MB) I start with the re-encoded version of the 4 titles. I divide into two parts using a split store archive in 7zip. Title1.mp4.zip.001, 600MB, Hotfile Title1.mp4.zip.002, 600MB, Megaupoad Title2.mp4.zip.001, 600MB, Hotfile Title2.mp4.zip.002, 600MB, Megaupoad ... This way even free users can download one title without waiting. Or do you need smaller files? Any suggestions? I know it would be better to upload everything to everywhere. I would do that but I discovered that my upload speed is crap(61KB/s). Really sorry, I should have calculated that in advance. I'm currently on a temporary connection until I get a 1gbps real thing next month. UPDATE @Tiger33 Now I read above post. You mean if I upload to your server you can provide direct download to all. I received the discs now, encoding for the first title will finish in 80 minutes. Unfortunately it will take me 5.5h to upload the 1200MB. My new connection could have done that in less than a minute (if the recipient is as fast). If I should do this upload to your server, please give me the details. Otherwise I proceed like I wrote above.

yes thats right - I can provide you with FTP log in details - I will give these to you in a few hours - you can then upload direct to this space. On a side note, I should be happy that the English DMM site is so lacking in content, otherwise i'd go broke for sure. Tiger there is no way you can get titles from the real JP DMM site, right? I remember reading you must have a Japanese credit card. Then again, who needs DMM when we have newyorker and he friend's shop

I failed in using ftp for the first title. Try it again with the second one. Hotfile seems to be limited to 400MB. So it will be like this MU 600MB takes about 3h HF 400MB done RS 200MB done The original discs are all dual layer! Encoded version has visible degradation in quality though the disturbing jaggies are gone. 2GB would have been better but this time due to the crap connection... If there is a next time this will be better. I saw my future connection on speed test sites at around 200mbps to 600mbps upload. So I could give you high speed on torrents or ftp (if this is easily possible with a dynamic IP). This is indeed a Jitsuroku made title, like Mutekiya or Needs. This is the release schedule (month/day Japanese format). Forgive me for asking, but would it not be more practical to just upload the original ISOs first before trying to make compressed encodes?
4 ISO=29.5GB, 4 .mp4=4.69GB, crap upload speed=60KB/s That's the only reason for this, sorry for the members waiting for the ISO. With a decent connection the upload of the ISO would be faster than the encoding. Now my PC is encoding the 4th title and uploading the 1st title at connection speed. so it's not like we are loosing time due to the encoding time. I will upload @24/7 till the last ISO that it's as fast as possible.
Once you have a quicker connection then you can upload via ftp at 100mb those who have already paid will get access very soon to FTP or web access with max download speed of 100mb - so you should all get the files very quickly. I think if we do it this way and have say a 3 / 4week delay before releasing the titles to those who have not put any funds towards the titles then we can grow the collection alot quicker. Also I can purchase via DMM for those who require titles from there too
