Today I got an email from paypal. They've closed my account.

This means 2 things:

1. No more donations

2. I have no way to pay for the server!!!

The datacentre I use accepts either international credit card or paypal. I don't have an international credit card.

I'm gonna look into getting a friend or family member to open a paypal account I can transfer funds to, to pay the server fees.

Note: the server is safe until June 3rd.

I just thought you guys should know.

in others words: is the ending of shibuyabashi Forum ?

the Dream is over...

I am so sad.. I cannot help you giving money... I almost not have money to pay my own expenses...

This was the worst news than I received since from the beginning of the year... :nooo:

Oh, my... Why I never can be happy ?

I was happy in shibuyabashi Forum and now everything ended... :sigh:

Don't go all emo... A-O/shibuyabashi forums aren't gonna disappear...

this is just a setback. Chances are the site won't even go down at all, and it's certainly not gonna disappear forever...

It's just awkward because this site is one of the easiest things I do, and now it's become difficult.

*sigh*

Donations violated TOS because this is an "adult site" apparently, which goes against their fascist policy.

Yup, you can't pay for adult stuff on ebay with paypal too. Stupid rule.
This sucks the big one!!! I really hope you find a way around all this and keep this site up and running. Maybe the "transferring funds" thing might help....... any suggestions anyone out there?

not exist an "adult version" of paypal, another site that works in the same kind of business, but, allow porn sites ?

in Brazil, all donations always happens in direct deposit in current account...

but, I guess, is impossible to do it in a current account of a Bank in another country...

I really not understand about these things...

I believe that I understood what sfsean want to say...

Will it be that it is not possible to create a account of the paypal that doesn't have relationship with shibuyabashi Forum? A personal account without relationship with any site?

That account had no relation to shibuyabashi forum, it was just my paypal account. Only relation was a link in my signature for donation that a few people used, and that paypal saw as a TOS violation and closed my account altogether.

I can't set up another one with the same card/bank details.

I have a few different solutions to this in mind. This will be sorted soon.

Another victim of paypal... I heard they can do what they want, one of my friends got his account deleted because he bought too many items in a short period of time. Weird... and clearly illegal i think :pissed: :furious:

yeah I was wondering about that as they would be able to see the site being linked from. If you do something like get a friend to set up a paypal account, you could post the link as hxxp, so people copy and paste it rather than link directly from the site...

You could always setup another account (with different bank account) and just tell people where to send the money to instead of providing a direct link. That way, no HTTP referrer ID is given.

Pretty bad...I can't even get a Paypal account (for other purposes) without some creative balancing acts (risk ones, for what it's worth), so I more or less understand what it's like to deal with that "company"...Hopefully you'll find a viable alternative.

Hmmm, Can't you just put it on another hosting site? I know it's a pain to move but then it'll be easy to pay. I have a server [although bandwidth is tight on mine right now], but there are plenty of people I know willing to do free moving and stuff over to another server. Would that be an option?

Well paypal aquired an EU banking license just recently. It will be valid beginning in July which means they have to comply certain standards (BASEL II) and they will be under supervision of Financial regulatory authorities, at least in europe.
Which means (only if you`re european, i guess) they will have to deal with complaints and support in a whole new different way or they will lose their license.
e.g. they can`t freeze your account without given reason (violating TOS, suspicious activities etc) and they have to implement measures against fraud and abuse.
My guess is it will change for the better for all paypal custumers in the future.

The better alternative is IMHO VISA or Mastercard.

My PalPal account was closed too, not so long ago... ;_;

So I can make a new one, as lost as it has different bank details? What if my name and residential address is still the same (lol)?
