Aww well you need to find some new favorites then! Well I'm not so much interested in hearing about strangers or vloggers experience with idols, but to facilitate a discussion with members of this forum and their interactions with idols. As you can tell from my pic and tag I'm a fan of younger girls in the JAV industry and maybe they are more used to using social media for things other than self promotion, that isn't to say that they don't do it, they certainly tweet out a lot of things about events and upcoming movies they are in and behind the scenes pics, but I really enjoy those.. It's better and easier to hear about an upcoming movie from them than wading through the new releases section of dmm/r18 or whatever video store you use.. So yeah I think most of my idols aren't necessarily famous, certainly not big names like the top 10 at dmm or anything, it's a rather smaller category of girls but I'd like to hear any people's stories..

I guess maybe my lofty goal with this thread is to humanize the girls more, we all watch them have sex on camera and we can become detached and think of them as objects, but as stated before it's just a job, and a job I probably wouldn't mind having if I was a young Japanese girl. I know that's easy for me to say since I'm not and I don't knot the ins and outs of the business, and I only know enough of their lives that they're willing to show us. So this thread I suppose is a bit of an indulgence, we all like the girls, and hear negative things a lot of the time, I'm trying to put a positive spin on things. The industry is changing, the girls are becoming more accessible which is a huge plus for fans, meeting them in person or interacting with them via social media is fun and it makes the girls more attractive to me at least to see a more personal side to them even if they are playing to a narrative sometimes.

If you're a fan of the big stars. You should check out their pink movies to see how the act or any variety/award/game shows they star in like Ebisu muscats. The original did a small tour around Asia. Some appear in foreign tv, movies, ads, and talk show too.it gives a different yet positive outlook of them and might get you interest in them more. Some videos of a lesser known yura sakura or not top dmm girls playing in some late night skits I think.

The status of some idols and their recognition by local society in Japan is quite different from what a pornstar receives from Western society.
In my opinion, the difference begins in the porn actress herself, who dress in a scandalous way, make breasts implants in excessive and unnecessary, bear grotesque tattoos.
Already an Idols JAV is quite different, if she walks by your side on the street, you don't realize what she does professionally. It's real girl next door.
Incidentally, this is one of the reasons, the main one, that makes me like JAV so much.
    sorry about my language.

No no, I understood you perfectly and I wholeheartedly agree, but let's not make this about western vs Japanese idols, I think we're all here because we like or even prefer JAV..

Differences in culture. Most are blunt and speak from their mind. They don't care about their image that much. Av idols in Japan seems to have stricter guideline from their agency, but they get somewhat nicer treatment on set.

^cool. Back to the topic. Sometime I tweet at some av actresses, but they usually ignore English tweets or anything too personal. They would only like and reply to casual tweets about their events and stuffs. However, I did got a random like and reply for some random emoji showing my support a few months ago.

I started tweeting in english and got a few random likes but now I use Google translate with simple phrases/questions that it's capable of translating without mangling and I've started getting a lot more replies and likes. But even in English a few girls (some not JAV actresses, cosplayers or girls who do dancing videos on niconico) tried to reply in English the best they could, it was cool to see them put forth the effort, I'm sure a lot of them don't even think about having fans overseas since Japan is so homogenous and kind of isolated as far as culture goes, I just think they appreciate hearing they have fans all over the world.. At least I would!

Depends on where you live. Av actresses and gravure idols goes to the AVN(mostly busty) and shoot in LA, NYC, Miami, and Hawaii beach before. The Muscat group and other similar small av or idol groups travel to different part of Asia to perform on stage.

I don't get what you're saying, there are also JAV girls that get breast implants, dress in "scandalous ways" and have tattoos, while there are also many many many girls in western porn that have that real girl next door feel also, I really don't think there's a big difference in recognition between the societies

Yeah I know, but I don't follow or tweet the big name idols who come to America, so much less popular girls just by nature since they're loli actresses and it's more niche so they don't have as large as a following and they seem much more receptive.. I live in the middle of the country pretty much SE Wisconsin so not much idol activity here lol.

Western pornstars are more open and "real" that they don't need to hide their true personality. Also, there are a lot of petite caucasian and latina girls without implant and tats.

I don't really want this to turn into a Western vs JAV porn debate please..

You might have better chance seeing American pornstars coming to your city to dance. I do notice some av actresses visit places just for vacation in the past like Maria Ozawa and Yui hatano in NYC.

I don't really have any interest in American porn stars, but you're right, Chicago is close by and there's some expos and stuff there, and I do see ads in the back of the newspaper for strip club appearances by various girls, too bad really but I can't really control who I find attractive..

ehh not really they hide a lot of things, because like in the JAV industry fans don't like hearing certain things, so a lot of fan interaction on social media usually involves thank yous, and i might do that.

But back on topic, my thread on JAV idol blogs, and twitter is still up, might updated soon so people can see more of what there favorite idols are doing.

Av actresses rarely update their blog anymore oppose to their twitter and instagram. Some make vine videos before the app dies.

I made that thread march 2013 when blogging was popular, that thread went quiet for obvious reasons

A lot of retirees closed their blog after years of inactivity like yua aida and kaera uehara. I remember their blogs still work a few years after they disappear after retirement. Some av girls still avoid twitter and instagram.
