Retired Actress Series
Starring: Iwasa Moe

NOTES: Everyone knows by now how much I despise the Chinese spammers and what the dickheads have done to ruin the JAV film experience.

I am trying an experiment with this one. I normally don’t bother downloading a movie spammed by 22366 unless an actress intrigues me but I can’t stand to watch with that shit on it. It is the easiest thing to watermark a movie, but so far I have not found an app that can remove a watermark, which is nearly impossible according to the app tech staff. So, in order to watch this film, I watermarked it, blocking the type with a colored box. I find this much more acceptable to watch and it allows me to focus on the action and I have several in my collection. Tell me what you think; it’s the only solution I’ve found after spending a lot of time on it.

This movie is about Moe, a cheerleader in a club, who decides to do an AV film. This is her only film, made a year ago, so I guess she decided against a career in porn. She has a great body, just the kind I like, full figured with big, natural tits. It was worth the effort to block the shit and to me, is very watchable.

Judging by the fact that almost 800 people downloaded the torrent, I will do this again. I am experimenting with the colors to use, scenes vary in background color and unlike this one, the boxes don't blend in. But I'll keep trying different colors.

At first I was like "What!?" ... but then yea, it works.

I felt the same way; I got the idea when I saw someone else do this, but he used a white box which clashed with the background. But I liked the concept and when I ran out of alternatives I started to experiment.

I tried one of those white boxed ones before but I found them too annoying and not just because of the colour. So I will skip these, but if it works for other people then good for them.

I've notice more than a few films where the spam jumps around and is different sized at different times, or non-existant for periods. Would not your boxes need to block everything all the time? I suppose you can use this technique most effectively on films where the spam is "constant." Oh joy. Any, yes, it is technically quite impossible to recover data once it has been destroyed. The spam destroys the underlying data of the image so there is no way back. If there were we could decode all the censored jav too!

Hi flyer. Yes, the spam does jump around; it caught me off guard at first. Now, after I apply the block, I go to trim to see how it looks, and if it shows any text, even the border, I go back and increase the size of the block. It's tedious but it looks awful with the text sticking out. I'm experimenting with colors, but unless the film has a bright background, it seems less intrusive to use a dark brown. That's the color of choice at the moment, it really is better than looking at the text in bright yellow. I wish my app had a pen feature like in Photoshop, then I could just cover up the text without a block.

What program are you using to recode the videos? Do you see any loss in the recode? I think some high end video editing programs have the ability to make a mask from a model of the text. What would be really slick is if someone wrote a program that would look at the neighboring color around the text and automatically make that the color of the mask as the video was recoded.. There is a process like this in Adobe Photoshop for static images. It's certainly doable and perhaps already exists somewhere.

I use Amersoft Video Converter. There is a Video Editor but the tech told me that the app cannot erase an existing watermark, so the search continues.....

This idea got me curious to try out myself. Using Vegas Pro 13 I created a duplicate of the video and put a mask over the logo. I experimented with blurring and pixelating and finally came up with a combination that at times works really well as it "may" blend quite remarkably with the background (see photo#1). At other times it doesn't. All three photos are with the same mask settings. Since the resulting video is a blend of the 2 videos I think the pixelation allows color from the bottom video inbetween the letters of the logo to merge a bit with the masked text part. The result is a pretty good blend of the background as the video plays. Anyway, by the time I recoded (Vegas can be painfully slow at this) I felt it was an interesting exercize but maybe not worth all the time.

Yours came out well. I considered breaking up the scenes and apply a different colored watermark to each scene to better match the backgroupnd, then stitching the movie back together. I did this with a crop of Matsui Yuko jux-732 when the spammers put an extra line that made it difficult to crop, and it worked to my satisfaction but it took a long time and wasn't worth it except as an experiment to enhance my collection. Now I found a HD iso version of that movie and it's taking long to download but worth the wait.

Why don't you post it since you went to the trouble?

The best thing imo is blurring the text. I have seen very good "blurs" ? :D on some korean BJ webcam videos. Sometimes its so well done that if you dont actually focus few sec on the spot of the blurr you wont even notice even when it is in the middle of the screen. So the "spams" in the corners should be even less visible.

I have no idea how to do it tho but imo that's the best way. Making huge colored boxes defeats the purpose of your uploads imo (or what are you trying to accomplish) and is imo a step back and probably worse than spam at least for me.

I agree, but it depends on the movie. If there are varied backgrounds, no, a box won't work. This one had more dark than light. It was an experiment and it's too much trouble, to be honest.

That being said, look how many people downloaded the torrent, 14,754 as I write this.

Tbh people will download even 240p porn :D so this shouldn't be looked at as some kind of indicator.

Me personally I don't mind spams that much even tho sometimes when they take like 1/5 of the screen and are super bright and you can't see actress because of it I get irritated but other than that it's ok imo when I essentially don't pay for it. But what you do is imo really good thing to do so when I see boxes like this I feel like it "lowers your standard" if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your feedback. I do have a question: what if I dimmed the spam? In other words, put the box over the text but keep the transparency low enough so it does not block the background, just dim the yellow print so it doesn't "shout" at you? I'm leaning against it but I'd like your thoughts on it. (I'm leaning against posting it because I can't stand to look at it even if it's dimmed, but that's me)

Do you have examples how would it look?

Also can u only dimm the text and not the space between letters/background (would be too much pain in the ass for you tho)? I mean a lot of the time especially in voyeur-ish type of JAVs when there are multiple camera angles and sometimes there is an "action" in the corner but there is spam text so you can't really see shit how would you do it in that scenario (I encounter this pretty often)? Imo that would make it worse since we would have to deal with text over actress and now also dimmed part of her vag or breasts or something (if you wouldnt be dimming only the text alone).

Imo blurr is still the best but if you can somehow change yellow spam to grey-ish that would be good enough too probably.

I can dim the text to maintain the background but cannot just do the text part. I'm preparing a movie at the moment so when it's done I'll post a before/after pic of a Matsui Yuko movie. You'll be able to see the background and the text will be dimmed. Btw, Muteki used to do a subtle pink watermark but they've become like the Chinese and now it's loud pink with bright white border. That can be dimmed easily because it is small. I'll post the pics in about an hour.

@efexx1: Ok, here are the comparisons. Personally, I still think it looks awful although not as bad as the no mask one. The problem is when the scene shifts from light background to a dark one. If the mask is too light, it shows up worse in the dark background, and vice versa. I don't think it's worth the trouble.Light Mask.jpg No Mask.jpg

the original spam is better imo. That box feels like it's catching eyes too much and as you have said darker scenes it will be more obvious so I wouldn't go this route tbh. There isn't much you can do with spam this large probably :-/

I have to sadly agree. I really despise those cretins. But where there's a will, there's a way. Watch for my post tomorrow evening eastern US time. They can't touch a DVD rip and I have a bunch. Am learning how to search better. Search criteria makes all the difference.
