Posters tend to use one of two programs, MasterSplitter or WinRAR, to split large files into smaller chunks for uploading to file storage sites like MU or RS.

They each tag a downloaded file with a distinctive icon. WinRAR's is a small stack of three books bound together with a leather strap, MasterSplitter's is a small box with a picture of a hammer in it. You can easily find them on a variety of sites including their own. You'll want both at your disposal.

Once installed, you either left-click on the MasterSplitter file with the little hammer icon and the extension "001" (there won't be any quotation marks) or, if it's WinRAR, right click on the little stack of books labeled "------part01.rar" (again, there won't be any quotation marks and the dashes will be the name of the file) and choose "extract here"
