I agree with you almost entirely. I love KV and M's cum angel series, but ASW I don't like , because the ambience there is too dingy and it's too dark. It's reminds me western porn somehow, so it doesn't surprise me why I don't like this series. For contrast I am fan of H.M.P gokkun idol series (because of that kawaii ambience, light places, colorful and pastel surroundings and great choices of actresses for gokkun for ex. Cocoa Aisu or Yuri Asada) Movies like MIAE-332 are totally not for me.
I think that second reason is real. This genre always sells worse than others just because we are the minority, and the AV idols who do that also are a minority, but for example years 2015-2016 were awesome for gokkun and the number this kind of actresses wasn't bigger at all. It depends on which AV idols are now in industry and which are more popular. In my opinion now are less good actresses to do gokkun but I hope in the future there will be more and the genre will revive.

I understand how you feel about asfur as their production value is not close to KV for example, but I think the scenes they provide more reliably for example multiload swallows are not found in KV titles and they have had some great girls in that series so I do enjoy it even though it's a different style. Though recently I think quality of girls has not been as good with them since Saya Anri (who seems to have retired
