JAV Star name changes

I thought we should have a place to track or verify name changes. Often this happens when an actress changes studios, although there are weird cases like Shion Utsunomiya becoming Rion at the same studio after a retirement then a quick comeback after a few months.

So, to start things off:
Shion Utsunomiya -> Rion

I'm wondering if Nakazawa Misuzu (credited as Nakazawa Mirei in some on-screen titles) at studio TEAM is the same gal as Hayama Hitomi at studio MAXING. They look pretty similar. She has one of the most beautiful faces that I've seen and a nice slim body with nice abs definition too. Too bad her acting isn't that great.

Can anybody confirm if they are the same person? Update: Confirmed they are the same person.

Brown girl Moka became brown girl Erika. This name always bothers me, I know it's pure coinsidence that the name Erika exists here in Germany as well, and that there's likely no relation between these names, but whenever I picture a woman named Erika, I wouldn't picture someone under the age of 60.

People most know her by the name Narumi Urumi, then she changed it to Hirose Lilia -> Urumi Nagisa, and now Mari Rika
Why change the name 3 times??? Is she some kind of undercover spy or what, lol

from what I've read usually JAV actresses change their stage name if they change agency, seems in JAV industry stage names are owned by the agency or studios

other possibilty, they change their stage name for better luck

I think it was this JAV Star Name Changes thread that made me think of starting the Same Named JAV Actresses thread... where the accent is on covering the confusion served by different actresses with the same name... as opposed to this thread, which I thought covered the confusion served by actresses whom most of us know by one "famous" name, and now they are known by a different name.

Now that I'm taking a new look at this thread, however, it seems to me the thread is now geared toward pointing out any alias, or moniker. I don't think that was our thread-starter Periph's idea... was it, Periph?

Sometimes a thread takes a life of its own, however, and if that's what this thread has come to be, then I have a suggestion.

I have learned a great place to go to check out aliases is the Minnano-AV site.

For example, our exalted zookeeper Guyverzero has treated us to (in Post #10, above):

Risa Murakami - > Sarina Takeuchi -> Yukino Takeuchi

(Where at least Guyverzero appeared to respect what I thought was the idea behind this thread, listing a progression of Sarina's name changes... you know, in chronological order. She was first known as Risa, then she became Sarina, and now she is Yukino. I don't know if that's correct, but that's how it comes across with the "->" sign.)

Now if you go to Sarina Takeuchi's Minnano-AV page, you get not only those three aliases, but others as well:

(In case you think she's special as I do, here's where I raved about Sarina.)

Out of curiosity, how relevant is "Yukino Takeuchi"? It sounded like Sarina no longer goes by the name Sarina, and is now known as Yukino.

When I Googled "Yukino Takeuchi JAV," I only ran into other resource sites with Sarina pages, such as Wav.tv and 1pondokouryaku.blog98.fc2.com.

Another good thing about Minnano-AV is that when you scroll down to check out an actress' filmography, they are listed as newest first. (You can get this order with DMM and R18 as well, but their default setting is "Most popular.")

As of now, Minnano-AV has a strange looking JAV at the top of the list (MRK-051, which seems to highlight Sarina's RISA moniker), but I chose to go with the next one in the list that didn't seem as obscure: NSPS-459, released in April.

When I searched for NSPS-459 in R18, and clicked on Sarina's R18 page, I noticed — after making sure to choose "Sort by... Release Date" — Sarina has even more recent releases not listed at Minnano-AV. It's good to check multiple reference sites.

Before I move on, however, the point that needed to be made is that based on the name we see for these recent releases, the actress is not known as Yukino; she is still known as Sarina.

As of today, her most recent original production (released July 25) was CRMN-097. I bring this up, because you can see another star is Yu Kawakami. And in parantheses after her name, we have... Shizuku Morino. (A DMM example page, where we may see the same.)

The point being, once in a while... it's very strange what their criteria are... DMM and R18 list aliases as well, but very rarely.

For example, three posts ago above, Joko_Chen (a member after my own heart, because he likes her too) wrote:

Whenever I go to DMM and encounter a movie page highlighting this amazing actress (an example), I can't help noticing DMM always adds Reiko's "Honami" moniker, but also...

澤村レイコ（高坂保奈美、高坂ますみ）

A third name as well, which we may see (from R18's counterpart page) reads:

Reiko Sawamura (Honami Takasaka, Masumi Takasaka)

Now I've run into a lot of Reiko/Honami movies... and to my mind I associate her with the Honami moniker, because that's how I first learned about her (inasmuch I've come to learn her primary name is Reiko)... and I don't remember coming across the Masumi moniker. So why does DMM/R18 even feel Masumi is relevant? (I just searched for Masumi Takasaka in quotation marks at my English-language reference site of choice, Asian Screens, and nothing came up.)

The conclusion here is that DMM/R18 are very weird when it comes to aliases. If you're going to make exceptions, why choose the aliases no one knows? More importantly, if you are going to list aliases with some, why not all?

Minnano-AV can be frustrating too; when I went there to search whether Reiko/Honami has other aliases, I discovered (you have to put the Japanese lettering into their search box) that she didn't even have her own "official" page. (Or maybe it's there, and it just didn't come up for me. These were the results for the Masumi moniker, by the way.)

At any rate, I just wanted to tell y'all that if you would like to see whether actresses have aliases, the Minnano-AV site is the place to go.

As good a place to go, come to think of it, is Sougouwiki. You just need to translate the Japanese names. (Minnano-AV is handy for that, by the way; in with the Japanese and — assuming they have constructed a page for the actress — out with the English.)

Yet Minnano-AV is not the end-all either; in this recent post, I wrote about how another English-language reference site, Action Jav, listed an alias for Mitsuki An that Minnano-AV skipped. Again, a reminder that consulting multiple reference sites can be very helpful.

By the way... a great Action Jav reference page that I pointed out almost three years ago; you may want to make a note of it. (As you can see they list some, but not all, monikers.)

Out of curiosity, I now went to Sougouwiki's page for Mitsuki An to see if they caught Action-Jav's moniker for "Reina Mano" They did not. They did, however, list a moniker not found in the other mentioned sites, that of "Ami."
