I should bump this thread as well. 
One of the other English-language Japanese-orbiting websites I browse is Ramen Adventures by Brian Mac Duckston. He is a motorcycle rider, and seemingly has a group which occasionally heads for a remote ramen shack. You can view the shacks he has cycled to in this subcategory.
