I can't speak specifically for what types of genre's we are adding or not. It seems that many of these videos are from a single maker, so if that maker makes more videos available then of course they will be added to our site. I suppose you also had the option of sending an email to a particular maker and asking them to make more videos available on R18.com but those mails would have to be in Japanese of course.

mum sounds like a MiniMum video title, which we do carry. Though the title in question is not available on DMM or R18.com. I am assuming it once was, which is why you are upset that is not there anymore. In this case it's a publisher decision to take down the video, due to some circumstance which we here at DMM are not aware of. If a publisher calls and asks to take a video down we have to comply. There could be a million reasons. You could always try contacting the publisher directly, but again that's not something we handle directly.

Captain Bondage, I'm having some trouble with http://www.dmm.co.jp/: I came across some movies entries in which I can't view the cover.
One example: http://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/dvd/-/detail/=/cid=h_479gne074/
If I click on the link for showing the complete cover in another layer I get an empty window. The texts are there, but no cover. I tried to analyse it using Fiddler (I don't have installed Wireshark so I relied on that). It seems that the server closes the connection after 1/5 or so in transmitted to the browser. Reason: Unknown.

How to reproduce the problem:

Clear your browser cache
Load the image (e.g. http://pics.dmm.co.jp/mono/movie/adult/h_479gne074/h_479gne074pl.jpg). Maybe it loads then. But if you do a "hard reload" (shift+reload) it loads only a part of it and then shows an error.

What is interesting: It never shows in that separate layer (unless it is already in the browser cache). But if you open the cover image directly there seems to be at least a chance that it is working, also it doesn't work all the time. Don't ask me why.

It works fine for me, and since I never checked that particular movie it can't have been in my cache.

It's odd: If I use a proxy (any proxy) it works perfectly. Does the DMM server not like my IP? Or my ISP?

Okay, I installed Wireshark...
I was wondering why I get the error and the next time I try to view the picture (without clearing my cache) it's there.

The interesting part starts now: Also my browser shows me the error message it starts another request.

Unfortunately I have to deal with things like that every day.

I guess otherwise I would just have thrown in the towel a lot earlier. And maybe it also wouldn't have been motivated to analyse it.

Yes we have many good offers that you can sort by price on, as well as items on the featured items tab. Regarding titles missing from R18.com, I have addressed this a few times in this thread. We are still in talks with publishers to allow their content to be featured on the worldwide site R18.com. When that content becomes available, we will be sure to let you know.

I'm not asking for an ETA or anything, but how confident are you that you can eventually get SOD on board with r18?

Captain Bondage, every movie I download from R18.com has some kind of codec issue or something.
For example I have a movie that is 1:57:39 in total length, and skipping in the movie works fine until 0:48:14.
If I click anywhere on the progress bar beyond that it goes back to that exact time.
Happens with every movie I downloaded from R18.com, but doesn't happen with any of the movies I downloaded from DMM.
The movie still plays normally until the end if I let it, but I can't skip further in it.
I sent a mail to support but it's been a week and I haven't gotten a reply yet.
Using DMM Player of course.
Would be nice to actually be able to see them...

xardac we are aware of this troublesome issue. All I can say is that they have been working on it, and are continuing to work on it. I will update the blog as soon as its fixed.

Captain Bondage! I need your help. I have an account with r18.com, and the card I was using is no longer being accepted. I have tried several different cards, and none of them work. I have contacted support, and they are of no help. I have over 72 movies on there, and I have never had this issue. I am trying to PURCHASE movies from you, instead of getting them from direct links. But your website is making it very difficult on me. Please help!

i am from the US and, of course, am blocked from viewing the information contained on dmm.co.jp. however, i have found that the information on dmm.co.jp is indispensible, assists my ability to post, obtain updated information about a video, e.g., japanese names of videos, id #s, idol's japanese names, japanese names of directors, etc., and generally research jav more thoroughly.

and incidentialy most of the digital videos that were available on dmm.co.jp are available on its newer site, R-18, and i can, from the US, access those videos. access from europe or elsewhere is unknown.

as mentioned before in this thread although i am blocked from viewing this video unblockers abound, e.g., http://unblockdmm.com/ - the status of this unblocker is currently uncertain as it has posted itself as being in "guru meditation" with a 503 error. i assume this unblocker is gone with the wind.

despite that minor setback other unblockers exist. in addition to viewing sites using japanese proxies and and VPN i often use http://unblocksit.es/en/2/unblock/dmm.co.jp/ and more recently i found hola!, an addon script i have installed in firefox specifically to access dmm.co.jp: https://hola.org/access/dmm.co.jp/using/e4b997aa6442ee11/site_com - and btw https://hola.org is a free vpn.
