Return to the Usenet. :gayprance:

I have.

It's safe, always reliable, remarkably easy.

choose provider
use binsearch.info (search)
create .nzb file.
use SABnzbd browser; no more need for newsreaders.

It's what we used before the rise of rapidshare, etc. And with today's retention rates (1100 days!) files are around a long time, not subject to the whims of file hosts or LEA.

They both handle other vids quite nicely.
I never download porn anyway...
:snicker:

so why are you suggesting them here?
moreover, whare are YOU doing here? :puzzled:

@who's using rapidshare: the upload speed is quite low; does it get faster being a paying user or will it be the same?

This thread is about the DDL Holocaust and exploring new alternatives. Please stay on-topic, poster above (now deleted.)

The next time I hear a teabagger excreting an impossible gem like "Obama is a Marxist because he's a Socialist," this thread is going TROLL DEFCON 1. Skulls will be cracked.

One more vote on usenet. I've been using it for a very long time. Just sign on with a good usenet provider and you will be set. Awesome speed, tons of stuff...can't complain at all.

Just as information regarding Usenet, it will be/already is targeted as well:

http://torrentfreak.com/major-usenet-provider-shuts-down-following-court-order-111106/

Since most of the copyrighted material is accessible only through commercial providers, it's basically the same "we sell copyrighted material" approach. The industry will target those services first since it's where they can get money for compensation/damages. I think the safest bet in the long run will be services where no money is involved.
Of course that doesn't apply to those of you who want to earn money. But for all others, or pure consumers, I'd certainly wait before entering contracts with long terms.

I think newsgroups have a better argument in these kinds of suits. They were never intended to transmit files. They were text groups initially. For filehosts, well, it is right there in the name. Also, there can be no conspiracy charge. There's no reward system to pay uploaders for usenet by the server hosts. All they can do is demand that server hosts have some kind of DCMA search in place. I know that the big servers here in US are already removing files if they get a req. I don't know what more they can require.

Feds: Megaupload user data could be gone Thursday
50 million users may lose data, including family photos, says Megaupload lawyer

Federal prosecutors say data from users of Megaupload could be deleted as soon as Thursday.

U.S. prosecutors blocked access to Megaupload and charged seven men, saying the site facilitated millions of illegal downloads of movies, music and other content.

The company says its millions of users stored their own data, including family photos and personal documents. They haven't been able to see their data since the government raids earlier this month, but there has been hope would be able to get it back.

Megaupload hires outside companies to store the data, for a fee. But Megaupload attorney Ira Rothken said Sunday that the government has frozen its money.

A letter filed in the case Friday by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said storage companies Carpathia Hosting Inc. and Cogent Communications Group Inc. may begin deleting data Thursday. Spokespersons for the two companies and for the U.S. Attorney's Office did not respond to messages Sunday night.

The letter said the government copied some data from the servers but did not physically take them. It said that now that it has executed its search warrants, it has no right to access the data. The servers are controlled by Carpathia and Cogent and issues about the future of the data must be resolved with them, prosecutors said.

Rothken said the company is working with prosecutors to try to keep the data from being erased. He said at least 50 million Megaupload users have data in danger of being erased.

Rothken said that, besides its customers, the data is important to Megaupload so it can defend itself in the legal case.

"We're cautiously optimistic at this point that because the United States, as well as Megaupload, should have a common desire to protect consumers, that this type of agreement will get done," he said.

Megaupload is based in Hong Kong. U.S. authorities said they had authority to act because some of its leased servers are in Virginia.

I hope you noticed the little snickering guy in my post after I said I do not download porn - I was joking. :snicker:
I am here just to try to help uploaders find a way to continue uploading, so that I may continue downloading all the great stuff here. I am a member in a movie group where some uploaders switched to the links I mentioned. I do not upload much, but I try to share any info I find which I believe may be valuable to the community here.

One thing for sure, this is going to hurt lots of peoples in this wired world of us. It may seem that file-sharing will end soon. Well then, back to basic, torrent it is.
As for me, money wasted for paying premium services for nothing and I've 4 of them. lets see, Rapidshare - still good for now, Filesonic - dead, Wupload - dead, Filejungle - dead. Sigh! What a sad day? Anyone out there share the same disappointment as me ?:poor:

It seem all file-hosting services are being targeted. Lets pray it wouldn't end this way.
Anyway, for the elite members who contribute here, do stay with Rapidshare.

probably 2/3 of uploaders have gone back to rapidshare, the others are waiting to see what happens. one thing for sure the days of getting paid to upload are gone and things are going back to free sharing like they should have always been. the few remaining sites that still pay wont be around long and are truly awful.

rapidshare has always been one of the fastest services if you pay. if you're too cheap, use torrents or wait out the slow speed. you can get free rapidshare by doing their points offers though.

Wupload isn't dead, they haven't deleted any files, people (in this forum) just don't use it anymore because they closed their affiliate programn 3 month ago because of finacial issues. Wupload is still used on warezsites where the uploaders don't care that much about making money.

Fuck the SOPA, PIPA, and to the republican pigs who still thinks Capitalism is an excuse to impose their will on a free democratic world. North America is going to shit and they love to use excuses like job creation, piracy, taxes and tariffs to justify their actions. They don't realize they are the problem and that they are the ones who caused the world wide recession, massive job losses, fear of conducting businesses with other countries and so on. Before you start blaming other countries for your faults, you should look at yourselves....creating crappy products like your movies, music, software etc. and over charging by over 100% and coming up with ridiculous dollar figures that we all know are completely made up. This doesn't benefit anyone except for the Rich and Mega corporations. "Eat the rich and shit them out" Fuck the Republicans and everything they stand for!

You've got that spot on!
