That is exactly what megaupload did. The "company" is based in Hong Kong. The severs are located outside of the city, and they blocked all users from Hong Kong any access to their site.

What Kimdotcom should have done is to locate all his assets to a country that doesn't have diplomatic or extradition laws with the US.

As if the AmeriKKKan empire ever gave a s*#t about "diplomatic or extradition laws"... :joker:
Be it the Internet or Iran, no entity, no nation, no life is safe from the fascist forces of Uncle Sam. :gayprance: (Yes, that rhymed.)

I'm trying to keep the list in post #1 up to date. If anyone has any corrections for it, just post them.

emule is too young to be in what I consider the roots of pirating and has been around too long to be the next thing. It is a good alternative though since I got a couple of my movies from there, but it can be hard to find something precise since you can't use a - in the search engine(as far as I know) which make it hard to search using a dvd code.

But yeah, something like freenet would be the most likely candidate for something more secure and harder to shut down.

I agree that is sometimes hard to find something on emule. The best way is to have a emule link. Otherwise it can really hard. One time I searched for a movie with an ID that started with ASIA...

About Freenet: Did anyone tested it? Does it work well? How about the user interface: Is it user friendly or one of these UI's which can be only used by the developer himself?

So what do people do now that free porn is over?

Maybe an era is over. But I guess people will switch to the next technique - like they did before.

I just sent request after the MU shutdown. It didn't pay me, but suspended my acc.

Even if they did not suspended my account, I did the same thing than you requesting my money but they didn't pay me.
Seems I am not the only poor one who lost around 100 dollards with the sudden closure of all these file sharing sites :(

Filepost only open Revshare plan to a little uploaders and close all plan to every else.

What's this Revshare plan ? I never heard about it o_O

Oron seems to have closed their affiliate rewards...

Well Oron was one of the biggest scammers around with ridiculous restrictions on free members. If they "closed" their affiliate program they'll die finally real quick.

Oron seems to have closed their affiliate rewards...

Not only that if they find any illegal data they are going to suspend your account and maybe even turn you in as stated in their TOS.

Dear ORON partners,

It is that time of the year when we perform an annual review of all our professional account holders. This year is special however, because ORON has grown so much and we are now faced with quite a large number of affiliates to check and see if their accounts are up to date and in compliance with ORON terms.

We have introduced a different review protocol for this year. What this means for you is that for a short time all accounts will be placed on temporary hold and that hold is going to be released when your account has been checked and approved. We may request a contact from you so please, if you do receive such a request contact us without hesitation.

While your account is being reviewed the access to your stats and balance will be temporary suspended, please keep in mind that all stats will still be calculated and kept up to date. The access to stats will be granted to accounts that have passed our review.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Sincerely,

ORON Team

wow I've been a lurker for so many years I forgot I this is my first post...
