Hey dude, This really is a fantastic thread!! A coupla questions. Is the Aomori trip work or pleasure? And, if it's not too much to ask, would you mind telling me the lenses used and the settings for these images you posted? (see below) I love low-light shots and was just curious as to whether these were just very well-done (I'm sure they were) or enhanced via post-processing? As a (very) amateur photographer I would appreciate any light (muwahhhahh) you could shed upon the creation of these images. Also, I assure you I will buy you that beer I promised a few months ago!! My family has been back 3 times this year and I have had to miss each trip due to work commitments!! Maybe we could drag Guy along as well!
Hey there Rhino. My trip to Aomori was work. I had a bit of a nice time and spent a few hours each day just 'wandering' but overall it was pretty busy. As for the lens used in those images, it is a VERY cheap lens, the Tamron 10-24mm wide-angle. Not quite a fish-eye, but still gives enough distortion to be worth editing afterwards. None of the images I have posted have been edited after they were taken. If you and Guy can make it out to Ueno or even Tokyo, I'd be more than happy to share a bar-tab with you boys.
