Looking For Jade PHI Videos

Heh, I've been trying to download EMKD-02 and EMKD-03 but these guys are seldom online. Even when they are online they are not interested in trading with me.

Without a doubt yours is much better quality but the quality is quite an overkill. 3500 KBps bitrate for 55 minutes? That's the bitrate I normally use for 120 Min 4.5GB 2-pass HD 1080p movies! Normally, those movies you download (e.g. Avatar DVDRip) their bitrates are normally around 800 Kbps for 60 minutes.

But don't worry about it, HDD space is one thing we all have in abundance. But if you are able to, use 2-pass encoding for better quality.

Yeah winmx sucks if only more of those guys would go on Share EX2 things would be alot easier but to each his own. BTW what program do you use to rip movies I use Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate if you have a better I would definitely be interested. Thanks again

Oh, what I do you probably won't be interested. It's a lengthy process requiring many steps. I've been meaning to look for ways to simplify the method but I never gotten around to doing it because I seldom rip from DVD.

Here's what I do:
1) Enable AnyDVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html) for removing DVD/Bluray copy protections (If no copy protections, skip this step)
2) Use Ultra Video Joiner (http://www.aone-soft.com/joiner.htm) to merge all the VOB files to 1 big VOB using original settings
3) Demux the VOB separating the audio and video streams using Eac3to (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/eac3to). Video is converted to MKV (but not re-encoded...just copy)
4) Convert to X.264 / XviD using MeGUI (http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/) (set 2-pass encoding here)
5) Remux re-encoded video and audio using MKVMerge (MKV) or AVIMerge (AVI)

WinAVI is a single-step converter much like Xilisoft but ultra fast using it's own MPEG4 encoder (XviD MPEG4 Visual compatible) and supports 2-pass encoding. It's the fastest one I have tested but it has a severe bug that converts any frame rate to 25 fps but video and audio out of sync. It was also the simplest. Hopefully the next version will fix this bug among others as well.

Other conversion programs I use: Xilisoft Ultimate Converter (the only converter that uses H.264 instead of x.264 that my Samsung Omni II needs), Any DVD Converter (when Xilisoft has problems), ConvertXDVD (for AVI/MKV/MP4 -->DVD), tsMuxer (for ripping Bluray to .TS), Surcode DVD-DTS Encoder (for downgrading 96 KHz DTS audio to 48 KHz that eac3to can support), DVD Audio Extractor (demux audio streams), etc., etc.

Yes, that's what I do but still require my step 1-3. I'm still looking for a single-step program to do all that and supports 2/3-pass encoding. Still searching....
