I didn't get the chance to try v0.04, but v0.05 seems to be working just fine, it created the d2v and encoded the audio, and is a few minutes into the video encoding. And yeah, it's slow. Will check results tomorrow.

It shouldn't be any slower than MeGUI + x264 HQ CRF profile + TempGaussMC + NNEDI2, which is what you usually do, right?

Thanks to you all for all your hard work. I have seen a vid with this encode, and unfortunately, now everything in my collection is shit! Great! Humbly request re-encode of all the best of Akiba, especially Shihono Ryou, Sakura Aida, Erika Fujimiya, Miyuu Kanzaki, Yui Arioka, Asuka Izumi, Aira Mihana, Yui Inoue, Araki Nozomi, and Yukari Nakai! etc., etc., etc.!
THANKS!!!!

I can't imagine who would stick up for an overbearing monopoly like Microsoft, even among the anti-piracy crowd. The only problem is that I probably wouldn't trust an OS I downloaded off the net. I mean, how would you know it didn't have some backdoor or something buried deep in the code? On the other hand, it looks like the JP version is even more of a ripoff than usual. Do you have access to the academic versions that cost a tiny fraction of the retail price?

Yup. but normally I have TGMC config'd with 'rep0=0, SVthin=0.0' which gives me a little boost. Don't know if you have Megu IV setup that way.
The first time I tried it, it was 40% slower than normal. I just tried it again and now it's only about 20% slower. I'm pretty sure the problem is my pc. It usually takes a couple of encodes to get it going.

You can always reconfigure the "[IV]" Avisynth, x264, or OneClick presets to your liking, if you want. You don't have to stick with the defaults I provide.
Megu IV Avisynth Presets- [IV] High Quality
- Uses TempGaussMC_beta1(2, 1, 1, EdiMode="NNEDI2")
- [IV] Medium Quality
- Uses TempGaussMC_beta1(2, 1, 1, EdiMode="NNEDI2", rep0=0, SVthin=0.0)
Megu IV x264 Presets- [IV]High Quality
- [IV] Medium Quality
Megu IV OneClick Presets- [IV] Best Quality
- Uses [IV] High Quality x264 preset
- Uses [IV] High Quality Avisynth preset
- [IV] Faster Encode
- Uses [IV] High Quality x264 preset
- Uses [IV] Medium Quality Avisynth preset
- [IV] Smaller Filesize
- Uses [IV] Medium Quality x264 preset
- Uses [IV] High Quality Avisynth preset
- [IV] Smaller Filesize & Faster Encode
- Uses [IV] Medium Quality x264 preset
- Uses [IV] Medium Quality Avisynth preset

I agree on all points. Out of curiosity, I gave the torrent a try, but there were zero seeders. Yeah, I'll probably buy the academic edition.

I've been using this for a few weeks... started with the one-click thing but it is better for me to go the long way as I like to include the menus (or parts of them anywas), pictures, etc. The one click high Q profile is the same as the one used normally?
I notice that dot crawl and rainbow effects still happen, is it my computer lacking processing power I do I have to add another filter to take care of this?

There's no "high Q" OneClick profile. Are you talking about the "[IV] Best Quality" OneClick profile?

"Normally?" I'm not sure what you mean. The "[IV] Best Quality" OneClick profile uses the "x264: [IV] High Quality" preset. You can look and adjust the preset by pressing the Config button on the main window. It's the same thing as the official "Unrestricted 1pass Const. Quality HQ" preset, with three changes: deblocking set to 0:0, quality set to 19.5, and keyframe interval set to 190.

Those problems have to be addressed by discrete filters. Cut an untouched 10MB clip from the VOB with DGIndex so we can see the problem.

Yes, I mean the x264 High Quality from the normal MeGUI window as opposed to the Best Quality from the one-click option. Once I tried to join files and got an error, but I dunno if I changed something, I delete the sandbox often so I would use the default options and I guess I will use only the normal window from now on.
The rainbow is more evident in the Hana Haruna scene where there are windows blinds, I'll see if I still have the iso... I have not used avisynth in years, but I don't remembe those problems being easy to solve, they're kinda annoying...
Thanks
