Well as long as you keep your ratio at 1.0 or higher, you're doing better than at least 50% of the people who download the file.
As long as you keep your upload to 80% of your maximum upload speed, it won't affect your download speed. Doing it this way ensures that you download your file as fast as possible since the more you share, the more you get.

I never go smaller then 150kb during download, but once I get the full file I usally jump the upload to around 750kb, I figure that's probably the extent of bandwith I get with my connection. Good to know, I don't want to be a leach, and just take, without giving something back.

if there had been a reseed of this torrent i would have personally sent you a million and one thanks. however, i am still stuck at 96.4% as i have been for about 3 months. i am patiently hoping and praying that one person will accidentally seed this without realizing they are doing it.
when there is a rare time that i can reseed something i make an effort to do it. maybe not for a week or but i will give it a "good faith" effort for a day or two. i also do not do it for the thanks and recognition. i do it out of respect for those who selflessly did it for me before without the expectation of even a thank you.
so thats all i really had to say about that and am still hoping someone will reseed this kidm-018 torrent so that months of patience can finally pay off lol!

illuminatus3,
i humbly apologize for not seeing that you did reseed this. it was on a day that we had horrible weather that put out our power so i guess i missed out on my chance to get it.
maybe someone else will seed again and thank you for your effort that you already put in.

When you're downloading a torrent.

This is a good start. uTorrent is one of the more difficult torrent clients to set up, but once you've gotten through that, it seems to work the best, without too much overhead, and not getting stuck on stupid things like file names.

This is quite unnecessary, as uTorrent gives a higher priorty to your bandwidth to downloading than to uploading.

I usually leave them in for 4 or 5 days. Your are primarily concerned with reaching a ratio of at least 1.0 (this means you've given back as much as you've taken). Now, since other folks often fail to reseed, I try to reach a ratio of at least 4 or 5. (This doesn't cost me anything at all, since I (like i8it) have a high speed internet connection.)

This is definitely appreciated. Wish all would follow your example.

Why not use?
I am not new to torrents and usenet, i just wonder why people dont post the them on to usenet, surely its a better and more reliable way of ensuring people can download the U-15 IV movies.
I have lost a lot of the above movies due to lack of seeders, i always try to give back more than i get,but what happens when no one wants that particular movie that i have just started seeding back? my ratio gets stuffed.
So any thoughts on why you dont upload to usenet, is very much appreciated.
Cheers

It still works.
I was looking at the Yuki Hina video, yesterday, and I noticed that it ended abruptly. Checking into this, I discovered that I had acquired the video as a direct download, but that I had failed to download the last piece. The pieces that I did have had assembled with HJSplit just fine, but left me with an incomplete video.
Solution ...
I downloaded the torrent, renamed the video file to match the file name in the torrent, and tossed it into my torrent client. Sure enough, uTorrent checked the file and found it to be 87.5% complete (this took less than a minute), at which point uTorrent began downloading (only) the remaining portion of the file.

Try the .iso torrent.

I don't know about the .mp4, but the .iso torrent has two 100% seeders. Their connections aren't so fast, but it's better than nothing.

No trackers, perhaps?
I guess it's okay if this thread becomes a repository for torrent technical difficulty questions and answers, as well as torrent reseed requests.

The following is a response to this thread, from post 14 downward. In particular, to hothothot, who requested 4 times that that torrent (SJAv2) be reseeded. I did reseed, 2 times, but hothothot seems to have been unable to download the vid.

hothothot -
I did what I said. I seeded for 2 days. I saw 3 peers come onboard and download to completion. When there were no more peers, I removed the torrent. Somebody was able to download - here's the proof - compare the dates and times of the below quoted post , your post just before that, and my post just before that.

Maybe this is the problem - Did you know that this torrent has no trackers? It uses DHT. I don't know what that is, but it allows peers to find one another, even without trackers. I know this DHT thingy works, because I have both downloaded and seeded a number of torrents (some from this forum, AO) that had no trackers. Akiba-Online had a torrent tracker for a while, and some people used it when creating new torrents. That tracker has been down for months now, but the torrents still work, if someone seeds.
What torrent client software do you use? Perhaps it doesn't recognize DHT. I recommend uTorrent. (I don't get kick-backs or anything - I just recommend it because it has worked well for me.)
