Discussion about Filefactory and filehosting bans
Hi akiba people,
many things have changed since the January events, and we need to get some feedback about what filehosters are still making trouble to a large part of the community.
Filefactory is one of them. Apparently they have severe country slots issues (maybe blocking entire countries). Can you tell your experience with this site, and if it is a good idea to have it on the banned list?
Otherwise we plan to ban any hoster that will block 'big' countries like USA or any european country. We know about Hitfile and Letitbit already, and they will most likely get banned. If you know other hosts that have this problem, you can always give a comment.

Turbobit and Shareflare are also blocking users from the US.
But I don't think they should be banned completely as these hosts are amoung the most relible and the most free user friendly. Shareflare for example has no captcha and Letitbit allows to download more then 1 file simutanously and has not filesizelimit for free users.

what is not mentioned in the list of banned links just is allowed, easy as it is, no need to recreate a list of allowed links, and preferred links are individual, I perhaps like other hosters more than you do...
And country bans can be walked around by using something like Jdownlaoder or a proxy...

What had become an accustomed in here is to create that trending "filehost" over the time while not taking considerations about our users who had brought a premium account. We can't just a allow a fly by night hosting to spam the forum. Preventing those crappy new filehosting to be used is one of the best way to cut spam and double topics. We need standardization about the filehosting being used in here.
Creating the list of preferred and allowed filehosting won't take you a day.
You might want to search this phrase and see how massive the content and quality of that forum have.
"ALLOWED, BANNED and PREFERRED HOSTS"

I like filefactory, as a free user served me well over the years, and just recently I bought a premium because more members are using them, and I did not want to wait between uploads
as for banning filehosters, it is different in every country, so we need the mirrors, but preferred hosters is better, that way we can get premiums

PLEASE JUST SEED EVERYTHING ON BIT TORRENT AND MAKE INCENTIVES FOR MEMBERS TO CONTINUE SEEDING OLD AND NEW CONTENT WAY INTO THE FUTURE, THESE SILLY HOSTING SITES WILL BE DICKS AND KILL LINKS, SEEDING ON BIT TORRENT IS THE BEST SOLUTION. MAKE AN INCENTIVE LIKE OTHER SITES IE ASIATORRENT ETC THAT MAKES MEMBERS SEED TILL THE NEXT MILLENIA.. BY NOT MAKING PEOPLE HIT AND RUN FROM DOWNLOADING THINGS..
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY FOR AKIBA CONTENT TO SURVIVE !!

You should no oppose torrents and direct downloads, they are complementary ways to get your favourite stuff.
And the topic here is about how to deal with the crowd of filehosters available since the Megaupload events, nothing else.
