Q: How can I trust you?
A: I've been a contributing member/moderator of akiba-online and run my own P2P server. I have no reason to cheat, lie or steal from you.
Q: Why are you charging us?
A: Because the cost will be far less than an individual purchasing them and you are guarantied a copy in the file format you prefer that is much higher quality than that of the free one.
Q: Why are you using PayPal?
A: I've been using PayPal for transactions like this for years without incident.
Q: I don't have a good connection, can I still be a partner?
A: Yes. The connection is only a requirement for torrent downloads.
You can get the direct download files with your connection.
A: Unfortunately not. The connection is a key point to the reliability of the group.
Q: Why must I upload a minimum 50k?
A: So that the members can get the file(s) quickly. The goal is less than 1 week. Please note the upload limit is global. (On all torrents)
Q: How are the files distributed?
A: As torrents & direct download password protected .rar archives. Each torrent created has all files included. It's best that you simply download the one your after not all. It's the easiest & fastest way to transfer files this large. The rar archives are individually password protected to keep each paying members choices safe.
Q: Can I get a direct download iso?
A: Unfortunately not. It would take more time and effort than I can provide. Direct downloads are limited to the high quality mp4 rip only.
Q: What format are the files?
A: The DVDs are iso, the rips are mp4 which will play in/on iPods, iTunes & QuickTime. The cover & artwork scans are as jpg @ 360 dpi.
Q: How fast will you (
desioner) upload?
A: I can offer the swarm 200k-600k which I think is quite a bit for a DVD or mp4. I'll remain connected to all peers during transfer, unless my router overloads which is know to happen.
Q: How can we (
members) choose/say what we want next?
A: There is a dedicated thread to members that discusses this very topic. I want all participating members to have an active say in what DVDs they want to purchase.
Q: Will the group simultaneously collect series?
A: Yes, it seems that thermidor has got a lot of people interested in other series
here that I'm also interested in.
A: No it is my goal to start and finish a series. Once one is finished move on to the next, if a new volume were to be released to a completed series it would be added when available.
Q: Are we committed to staying in the group?
A: No, you can leave at any time and or decide not to get any DVD that is in the queue. You simply need to inform me of this. Communication is what is most important. If you do not tell me that your no longer interested and simply do not participate in 2 consecutive polls then I'll cancel your membership. This in not permanent and you may join again at any time.
Q: What is the retention time for the file transfers?
A: For paying partners it's until each has a copy of their file. For the leeches it's exactly
one week one day after the original post.
Q: Are we able to get older DVDs that were released months before?
A: Yes as a DVD club member you can request to get any of the previously released titles. You simply need to contact me.
Q: After I join I don't see any torrent files in the DVD Club Bunker. Is that normal?
A: Yes, The DVD Club doesn't post any of the DVDs links of files in the members area. All of that work is done by me via private messages.
Q: Should I be an donor or extremely active member @ akiba?
A: It is not a requirement but a bonus for the group if your an active member with posts and uploads and possibly donor status @ akiba.
Q: How much is the club going to cost me?
A: The average for contributions is determined by 2 things.
1: How many titles you want.
2: How popular a title is.
Each DVD is ¥3990 and there are over 40 members. The most I've ever seen vote for one title was 24 which made that DVD only ¥166 per member! But sometimes a not so popular DVD has as little as 4 votes which makes it ¥998.
From what I've seen, usually only about 4 members consecutively vote for all titles and they spend about ¥2500 a month on 6 DVDs. Which is more than a steal considering each is ¥3990.
Q: Is it possible to get previously released DVDs?
A: Yes it is. After a DVD Club release is completed the files created excluding the DVDiso are backed up and deleted from my computer. Because I need to re-create torrents and or archives for members to download I do charge for Back Catalog orders. The rate is flat and it's reasonably priced. Please PM me with your inquiry.
Q: What is the meaning of L.I.F.E.?
A: It's simply read as life. As far as the meaning of it, I've simply decided that each member of the group is open to find out a meaning for themselves.
