Until further notice, all new downloads in the DDL subforums in akiba-online MUST contain a ryushare link. All new threads for new downloads without a ryushare link will be deleted. For more information see this thread
in this how-to I want to describe in detail how you can create thumbnails of online movies.
Maybe you know the situation: You found a nice clip on xvideos.com, userporn.com & Co. and want to know the movie ID or the name of the performer(s). So you post a link in the identification section, but no one responds. Maybe people just to lazy to watch the clip. Or maybe they can't (e.g. if it is on fc2.com which limits access).
How about uploading some thumbnails of the clip as an attachment to your post? That can increase the chance other members will help you.
But how can you do that? Just follow these few steps:
Open http://www.ant.com/video-downloader, download and install the Ant.com Video Downloader. It can download the videos which are played by most of the flash video player.
If you have installed the plug-in correctly you should see a toolbar containing buttons like download, player and so on.
Maybe you have to modify the settings (e.g. the download directory where the downloaded videos will be saved).
Start MPC, load the video & select "File > Save Thumbnails..."
In the save dialog you can define how big the picture should be (at least the width) and how many thumbnails it should contain. The more thumbnails it contains the smaller the single thumbnail is.
Upload the thumbnail file as an attachement to your post on Akiba-Online.
In the "Additional Options" section you should see an "Manage Attachements" button.
Press it and another window will be open. Choose the picture on your computer you want to upload. Then press the upload button. You can choose 5 files at a time, but you can repeat this process over and over again.
Now you should see the uploaded files in the lower half of the window.
The "Attach Files" section will be updated every time you upload or remove files from your post.
Now you can look at your post by using "Preview Post" or submit it by pressing the "Submit New Thread" button. Voilą.
It is a good idea to keep the video files. Sometimes the clips get deleted.
Put the link to the video also in your post.
Sometimes you will find additional information in the comments to the clip. Read them. E.g. in our example we find the information that the performer is Reiko Nakamori. We can include this in our post so the forum members only need to identify the movie. And maybe there is a huge fan of her around...
I'm looking forward to your feedback, critics and suggestions.
